The Longing is a unique title that combines elements of adventure and idle games. Playing as the lonely Shade, it is your task to simply wait 400 days in the dark caverns deep below the surface before waking up your king. Of course, nothing is preventing you from exploring your surroundings or even trying to find an escape, but 400 days counting down in almost real-time you’ll find that nothing in this game can be rushed.

Gameplay: You’ll find that patience really is a virtue when playing The Longing.

Graphics: The protagonist is certainly a memorable character and the visual style is very charming.

Sound: The soundtrack is great and the sound effects enhance the lonely atmosphere of the game

Hidden Through Time

Hidden Through Time is a charming little game that challenges you to locate a variety of small objects amongst levels full of hand-drawn characters and objects. The visuals are bright and colorful while the four different time periods ensure plenty of variety. Although the 26 levels included with the game can be completed in no time, Hidden Through Time also features a nice level editor and access to tons of user-generated content to increase its longevity.

Gameplay: Very easy to pick up and play, but it’s also very easy to get hooked.

Graphics: The visuals are quite charming and are packed with some nice detail.

Sound: Nothing spectacular, but fits the theme of the game

Bayonetta PC Game Reviews

Bayonetta

Bayonetta was already a hit on consoles, but despite the years it took to reach PC, this is by far the best version of the game. It looks great, runs smoothly, and retains all the over-the-top action and excitement. The story is perhaps a bit too convoluted for its own good, but it provides players with plenty of unique enemies to pummel and some hilarious scenes that must be seen to be believed. If you like hack-and-slash games, you can’t go wrong with Bayonetta.

Gameplay: Bayonetta is stylish, over the top, and a lot of fun once you hone your reflexes.

Graphics: This is the best the game has ever looked since its release on consoles.

Sound: Everything from the voice acting to the soundtrack is top-notch

Mokoko PC Game Reviews

Mokoko

Mokoko is a fun Qix inspired title that fuses addictive gameplay with some lewd visuals. It shares a lot of similarities with the Gals Panic series by Kaneko, but adds enough wacky elements of its own so that it doesn’t just feel like a cheap clone. The free nudity patch is completely optional, but even without it, Mokoko is not exactly a family-friendly game. Nevertheless, it’s a fun game and definitely offers a lot of value for money.

Gameplay: It uses the tried and tested Qix formula, so you know it’s addictive and fun.

Graphics: Nothing spectacular, but the art is decent overall.

Sound: The soundtrack is decent and the voice acting is pretty good

LUNA The Shadow Dust

Help a young boy and his cute cat-like companion reach the top of a mysterious tower in this beautiful point & click adventure by Lantern Studio. Luna The Shadow Dust features gorgeous hand-drawn artwork and a beautiful soundtrack to complement the brainteasers. It’s not a very lengthy game, but controlling two different characters makes for enjoyable puzzle solving. The lack of dialog and inventory may disappoint fans of more traditional point & click adventures, everyone else will have fun with this title.

Gameplay: Tricky in spots, but nothing that can’t be solved by paying attention to your surroundings.

Graphics: The hand-drawn visual style of the game is simply beautiful.

Sound: No voice-acting, but the soundtrack is excellent

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile

If you enjoy stylish visuals, fast-paced combat, and over-the-top violence, then The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile will definitely put a grin on your face. It features two different characters, a nice carnage-filled campaign, as well as plenty of extra modes to keep you hacking and slashing. Despite its age (the game was initially released on Xbox 360 back in 2011), Vampire Smile still has what it takes to satisfy fans of the genre.

Gameplay: The game is fast, fluid, and very, very violent.

Graphics: The visuals are stylish, but the art style might not appeal to everyone.

Sound: The soundtrack and sound effects are a perfect match for the action

Seven Days

Seven Days is a visual novel that starts like something straight out of a horror movie as the protagonist, Kanzaki Shuuichi, receives a cursed Blu-ray disc from a friend. However, thanks to the exorcism skills of his childhood friend, Shuuichi is saved from the evil spirit trying to possess him after watching the disc. This leads to the unexpected development of the female ghost gaining a physical human form and revealing that six other girls are trapped inside her. Shuuichi ends up with his hands full as he attempts to make the last days of these spirits as pleasant as possible, but it’s impossible for him not to grow attached to them along the way. Seven Days is a captivating and well-written visual novel that will stay with you even after the credits roll.

Gameplay: The story is well-written, and there are enough choices for multiple playthroughs.

Graphics: Everything from the character sprites to the backgrounds looks great.

Sound: Full Japanese voice acting for all the girls, and the soundtrack is pretty neat, too

Dead End Job

Dead End Job is a twin-stick shooter where players take control of Hector Plasm, a ghost exterminator on a mission to save his mentor’s soul. To accomplish this Hector will need a lot of cash, but luckily there is no shortage of people willing to pay him to shoot ghosts with his plasma blaster before sucking up the pesky spirits in a vacuum pack. The procedurally generated levels in this game span several distinct districts and the game is a lot of fun. Dying means losing all your perks, which sucks and the co-op is a bit of a letdown due to the limitations of the secondary character, but overall Dead End Job has a lot to offer.

Gameplay: Shoot ghosts to stun them, then suck them up in a vacuum pack.

Graphics: Very colorful and there’s a wide range of different ghosts types to encounter.

Sound: The soundtrack fits the style of the game perfectly and there’s even a neat intro theme song

The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2 sees the return of Nora Handa as well as the bevy of girls who ensure that there is never a dull moment in his life. Like the first game, it is a mixture of romance, comedy and even a few serious slice of life moments. Unfortunately, it is also censored like the first game, so all traces of adult content has been removed. Despite this, The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2 is an entertaining visual novel with enough content to keep you busy for a long time.

Gameplay: A new cast of romanceable characters as well as the return of some old ones.

Graphics: The artwork looks great and the game features plenty of CGs.

Sound: Full Japanese voice acting once again and a mammoth soundtrack
