HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed

HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed

Hypercharge: Unboxed is a fun first-person shooter where the emphasis is squarely on co-op. Running around huge environments as an action figurine while blasting all manner of toy enemies is immensely enjoyable and there’s enough content here to keep players coming back for more. The visuals are exceptionally detailed and the design of the levels shows how much care has gone into the game. Some things could be improved, especially for solo players, but overall this is a must-have for co-op fans.

Gameplay: The game has a slight learning curve, but it is a lot of fun with friends.

Graphics: The scale of the levels is impressive and the game is crammed with small details.

Sound: Good sound effects and music, but the announcer can become a little annoying

Time Mysteries: Inheritance – Remastered

Time Mysteries: Inheritance – Remastered

Even in “Remastered” form Time Mysteries: Inheritance is one of the weakest titles in the Artifex Mundi catalog. The visuals are very rough and fuzzy due to the low-resolution artwork and the voice acting is spectacularly cheesy. It’s nice to travel to different centuries, but the locations in each are bland and unmemorable. Overall, there are so many other great games in the genre that this one can be safely skipped.

Gameplay: Very basic and unremarkable.

Graphics: Rough around the edges.

Sound: The voice acting is some of the worse we’ve heard for a hidden object game

SOMA

SOMA

Soma is a sci-fi, horror experience that is set deep below the waves of the Atlantic ocean. At first glance, it might seem like Bioshock without the combat but delve deeper and you will find a deeply engrossing experience that is filled with thought-provoking themes. The game features excellent visuals, great sound design, and a story that will stay with you for days. It might disappoint some players looking for a pure horror or action title, but overall Frictional Games knocked it out of the park with Soma.

Gameplay: The game draws you in right from the start and doesn’t let go.

Graphics: Detailed environments and stunning underwater locations.

Sound: Everything from voice acting to music and sound effects is top-notch

NieR:Automata

NieR:Automata

Nier: Automata allows you to fight for the glory of mankind as an android locked into a war with the alien created machine lifeforms that have driven humanity to the moon. It’s a stylish 3rd person action game with a semi-open world and fluid combat, but the story is really what makes the game so memorable. It’s full of surprises and plenty of heart-wrenching moments that make it easier to look past some of the shaky technical aspects of the game. It’s also undoubtedly a very quirky game, so it might not appeal to everyone, but if you are a fan of the genre then it is a must.

Gameplay: Action-packed, entertaining, engrossing, and over the top.

Graphics: Great designs for everything, from the environments to the characters and enemies.

Sound: The voice acting is really good and the soundtrack is amongst the best in the business

Seven Doors

Seven Doors

Seven Doors is a puzzle game that challenges players to navigate their way through several unique challenges. Gameplay: Seven Doors will challenge your problem-solving skills in several unique ways.

Graphics: Not cutting-edge, but impressive enough for a small studio.

Sound: Very good
