Cat Quest II

Cat Quest II

Cat Quest 2 takes all the elements that made the original game such a hit and polishes everything to a fine sheen. It’s not the most challenging 2D action RPG on the market, but it has a lot of charm and is still incredibly addictive. The main story is brief, but there are many side quests and optional dungeons that can keep players busy for ages. Although Cat Quest 2 is not perfect, it’s a lot of fun and will appeal to fans of the first game, as well as newcomers looking for an accessible title.

Gameplay: It’s not very challenging, but it’s a lot of fun.

Graphics: The 2D visuals are beautiful and stylish.

Sound: The game features a decent soundtrack and sound effects

Peggle™ Nights

Peggle™ Nights

While this is basically just a glorified expansion and not a full-blown sequel, it’s hard to argue with the at 60 more Peggle levels. The new master is pretty cool, and the new levels are nice but try and get it as a combo pack with the original Peggle if you want value for money.

Gameplay: Exactly the same as the original game with just one new master.
Graphics: Very nice hand-drawn artwork.
Sound: Sounds virtually the same as the first game

Mythic Ocean (Paralune LLC)

Mythic Ocean (Paralune LLC)

It’s not every day that you get to swim around a tranquil underwater kingdom and interact with a pantheon of gods, but that’s precisely what is in store for players of Mythic Ocean. The game is set to release sometime later this year, but the developers, Paralune was kind enough to provide us with a demo to check out in the meantime. They describe Mythic Ocean as a narrative exploration game, which is pretty apt as there is no combat or death to worry about in this title. Instead, you can take your time to explore your surroundings and chat with the goofy cast of characters that inhabit it

Die Young

Die Young

Die Young is an impressive open-world title in which you play a young woman named Daphne trying to survive the dangers of a remote Mediterranean island. It is extremely satisfying to explore the vast island and slowly piece together the story. Seeing everything that Die Young has to offer should keep players busy for ages, and apart from a few technical issues, the game comes highly recommended.

Gameplay: Exploring the vast island is a lot of fun, and there are many things to see and do.

Graphics: Die Young is a great-looking game once you max out all the visual options.

Sound: The game features a decent soundtrack and sound effects, but some of the voice acting could be better

Darksiders™

Darksiders™

More than just the sum of its parts Darksiders is a very entertaining game that nicely fills the gap in a genre that has very slim pickings on PC. It’s not going to be one of those games that people will be talking about years from now, but it’s a solid title that will keep you hooked through its 20+ hour campaign.

Gameplay: A pleasant mix of many different action/adventure games.

Graphics: Some very nice new effects bring the zone to life.

Sound: Good ambiance and decent voice overs

Assassin’s Creed® Brotherhood

Assassin’s Creed® Brotherhood

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is another console port that took its sweet time to reach the PC. However, fans of the series will enjoy what it has to offer. It’s way more than merely a multiplayer based expansion pack, and there are quite a few story revelations with new twists and turns.

Gameplay: Even more refinements to the already polished Assassin’s Creed 2.

Graphics: Looks good but not really better than the last game.

Sound: Good voice acting, and epic music

Assassin’s Creed 2

Assassin’s Creed 2

Assassin’s Creed 2 is an epic game that will keep you busy for ages as you unlock all its secrets. Everything about the original has been polished and improved so be sure to give this one a try.

Gameplay: A stellar improvement over the original.

Graphics: Very detailed.

Sound: Really brings the game to life

Mirror’s Edge™

Mirror’s Edge™

Mirror’s Edge is a bit on the short side, but it definitely features some unique gameplay elements. It will probably not appeal to everyone and trying to play it like a first-person shooter will get you killed very quickly, but there is a lot of potential here. Hopefully, future installments can refine and expand on the concept.

Gameplay: Definitely a unique take on the genre.
Graphics: A fresh look for the genre.
Sound: Top notch

The Beast Inside (Illusion Ray Studio)

The Beast Inside (Illusion Ray Studio)

From Resident Evil 2 to Pathologic 2, 2019 has been no stranger to horror games so far. We’ve seen plenty of good ones, a few that haven’t lived up to expectations and even a couple that took us by surprise. Then, PlayWay S.A. contacted us with a short beta version of the upcoming Illusion Ray Studio title, The Beast Inside. It is only one of the thirteen chapters from the full game, but what we experienced was already more than enough to convince us that The Beast Inside is going to be a stellar title

WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship

WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship

WRC 8 offers a bunch of new improvements and features compared to its predecessors, which makes it one of the best rally simulators currently available. It’s not the easiest of games, but there are enough aspects that can be customized to ensure players of all skill levels can have fun. You will still have to put in the time and effort to really master your vehicle and the demanding courses, but it is more than worth it. The new career mode also has enough depth to keep players hooked, as you make your way up the ranks. If you are looking for an off-road racing game with plenty of depth and mountains of content, then WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship is it.

Gameplay: Hard to master, but very rewarding.

Graphics: Apart from some rough edges, WRC 8 is a great looking game.

Sound: Everything sounds like it should
