PAYDAY™ The Heist: Wolfpack DLC

PAYDAY™ The Heist: Wolfpack DLC

The Wolfpack DLC adds two brand new heists to the game along with a brand new class, the technician. The new heists offer a lot of fun, but are also challenging enough to keep veterans on their toes. The new class also comes with their own new weapons and gadgets, including a grenade launcher and sentry gun, which is pretty impressive. All in all, there’s no reason not to grab this DLC if you are a fan of the game, although the developers have generously included the option to invite friends to the new heists if you own the DLC and they don’t.

Gameplay: Two brand new heists, a brand new class and some new weaponry.

Graphics: Still the same as the base game.

Sound: Not much has changed compared to the base game

PAYDAY™ The Heist

PAYDAY™ The Heist

Payday: The Heist is not a game for people who prefer playing on their own or don’t have the patience to put up with unfair odds. However, it does offer non-stop action, great level designs and plenty of variety as you go about your criminal activities. The game is obviously showing its age, but it still has plenty to offer if you have a few friends willing to enter a life of crime with you. Pulling off the heists against all odds is incredibly satisfying and the different skill trees along with the constant challenges keeps things fresh.

Gameplay: The game is not even remotely fair, but it is a lot of fun and quite addictive, provided you play with friends.

Graphics: The visuals definitely show their age, but still look good in places.

Sound: Decent audio, but you’ll mostly be listening to your team members over voice chat in any case

Blue Estate The Game

Blue Estate The Game

Blue Estate is an on-rails shooter that is filled with violence, obscenities, and plenty of very politically incorrect humor. It is based on a comic book license, so if you are a fan of these and enjoy the genre, then you will have a blast with the game. Unfortunately, it is rather short and its brand of humor will definitely not appeal to everyone. However, despite its flaws, it is certainly an entertaining title and addictive enough to keep us coming back for more even after completing both the story and arcade modes.

Gameplay: Light gun games are not exactly common on PC, so if you have the right peripheral you will have a blast with this one.

Graphics: Colorful, detailed and quite humorous in places.

Sound: The voice acting is decent and the soundtrack isn’t bad either

Unruly Heroes

Unruly Heroes

Unruly Heroes is a gorgeous looking 2D action platformer that is loosely based on the Chinese epic, Journey to the West. It gives you control over a motley crew of four characters as they travel the land in search of the sacred scroll that will restore balance to their world. Unfortunately, the controls are not always responsive, which means this is a game that often looks better than it plays. However, it still features plenty of clever touches and variety, which elevates it above a lot of other games in the genre. It’s not the easiest game out there, but it’s definitely worth sticking with it to the end.

Gameplay: Unresponsive controls mar the experience slightly, but it is still a great game.

Graphics: Everything about the art and visuals is top notch.

Sound: Not the best voice acting, but the music is very good

Citrouille

Citrouille

It is easy to mistake Citrouille for a casual game because of the adorable visuals, but players who underestimate it are in for a shock. This game feels like it was ripped straight out of an ’80s arcade and given a brand new lick of paint. Citrouille is best played with a friend in local co-op, but even on your own it is a lot of fun. It is a pity that it lacks any online features and that the co-op as well as versus modes are restricted to local only, but other than that it is a great game and definitely a bit of a hidden gem.

Gameplay: Tough as nails, but very easy to pick up and play.

Graphics: Everything from the designs to the animations are superb.

Sound: The tunes are good and the sound effects more than decent
