As if creating one of the most maddeningly entertaining surgical “simulation” titles we’ve ever played wasn’t enough, the fine folks over at Bossa Studios have now turned their attention to bread. According to the developers, I Am Bread is “the beautiful story of one slice of bread’s epic and emotional journey as it embarks upon a quest to become toasted.” Apparently this will involve traversing the perils of a kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom as a moving slice of bread.

The newly released gameplay video shows a slice of bread flopping and swinging around a house while causing all kinds of physics related havoc. Bossa Studios mentions that there will be almost a hundred different items for your slice of bread to interact with. From the looks of it the bread is quite agile and nowhere is safe from its sticky onslaught. Players won’t have to wait very long to get in on the action either as the game hits Steam Early Access on Wednesday, Dec 3. The final release will be out early 2015 according to the developers and contain more levels, the full story, more objects to interact with as well as the usual achievements an extra polish. Considering how much fun Bossa Studios made poking around inside someone else’s innards we have high hopes for I Am Bread. Check out the trailer below to see the game in action.

Kriophobia By Fira Soft

Kriophobia claims to be a new take on Survival Horror which, while inspired by the core concepts of the genre, isn’t afraid to pull out a few surprises. The game made it through the Steam Greenlight process in only 13 days, but its Kickstarter campaign could do with a lot more attention. The game will allow players to take control of a geologist named Anna who got herself stuck on an island in northern Russia. Her study of seismic activity brought her to this remote area, but it is a solitude that she has sought out herself. It would appear that Anna is haunted by events from her past which is why she shuns civilization. However, when she falls into a sealed military complex by accident Anna has to save her colleagues while also confronting whatever it is lurking in the dark.

Otome fans will already be familiar with the big names like Otomate, Voltage and Reject. Newcomers Weeev might be a small group, but their goal is to offer experiences comparable to what players expect from these big developers. That is why Weeev turned to Kickstarter for their debut title, Purrfectly Ever After. In case the name didn’t give it away already, it is a feline themed visual novel starring cute characters and a romantic story.

Not enough Ciabatta representation in this game. I heard that Baguettes are too hard to animate as well.
