As if creating one of the most maddeningly entertaining surgical “simulation” titles we’ve ever played wasn’t enough, the fine folks over at Bossa Studios have now turned their attention to bread. According to the developers, I Am Bread is “the beautiful story of one slice of bread’s epic and emotional journey as it embarks upon a quest to become toasted.” Apparently this will involve traversing the perils of a kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom as a moving slice of bread.

The newly released gameplay video shows a slice of bread flopping and swinging around a house while causing all kinds of physics related havoc. Bossa Studios mentions that there will be almost a hundred different items for your slice of bread to interact with. From the looks of it the bread is quite agile and nowhere is safe from its sticky onslaught. Players won’t have to wait very long to get in on the action either as the game hits Steam Early Access on Wednesday, Dec 3. The final release will be out early 2015 according to the developers and contain more levels, the full story, more objects to interact with as well as the usual achievements an extra polish. Considering how much fun Bossa Studios made poking around inside someone else’s innards we have high hopes for I Am Bread. Check out the trailer below to see the game in action.

Aquiris Game Studio announces their homage to the classic racing genre

Remember Top Gear? No, not the television series, but the Super NES racer that was developed by Gremlin Graphics back in the early 90s. Well, Brazilian developer Aquiris Game Studio certainly remembers this classic, as well as Lamborghini, Lotus, Outrun and all the other retro racing titles. It should come as no surprise then that the studio is putting their love for 8 and 16 bit racing games to good use by developing their own title called Horizon Chase.

Have a yearning to conquer and rule a fantasy world? Then the Legends of Fire & Steel Kickstarter is definitely something to check out. According to the developers they were very influenced by oldschool strategy titles such as Heroes of Might & Magic, Warcraft and Civilization as well as board and card games. The end result is a turn-based strategy title that aims to be simple to play, but with enough depth to keep players hooked.

Not enough Ciabatta representation in this game. I heard that Baguettes are too hard to animate as well.
