It has been a while since we’ve seen a good god game, but Abbey Games plan on changing that with the upcoming release of Godhood. The Dutch studio has already proven themselves with games like Reus and Renowned Explorers, but Godhood looks like it will be their most ambitious title yet. Although the base game has already been funded and on course for an Early Access release in May 2019, Abbey Games launched a Kickstarter campaign today to provide it with even more depth.

The Godhood Kickstarter has a funding goal of €50,000, which must be reached before March 1st. Abbey Games have a lot of ambitious plans for the game, but one of the most exciting additions that might become a reality thanks to this Kickstarter is the inclusion of an eldritch god. The focus of the game is to play as a young tribal god spreading your own religion through the land. The base game will already provide players with a ton of options when it comes to choosing what kind of god they want to be, but the inclusion of an ancient eldritch god with your own dark and secretive cult sounds pretty good to us. Obviously, if the Kickstarter is a success, it would provide Abbey Road with more resources needed to include additional options for mixing and matching into your own unique religions.

There are numerous pledges available for Godhood, starting from as little as €1 if you just want to help out all the way to €1,000 if you want to name an enemy disciple, design a dedication and design an adversary deity. All the pledges starting at €20 or higher includes a digital copy of Godhood, so this is a good opportunity to secure the game and help the developers to make it even better.

For more information about Godhood and what the game will entail, check out the official website or the Kickstarter page. Be sure to check out the video below as well as it introduces both the game and team. Whether your idea of godhood includes cat worship or human sacrifices, Godhood looks like it is going to be one to keep an eye on if you are a fan of the god game genre.

With plenty of English visual novels appearing on Steam and in bundles these days players are spoiled for choice. However, indie games with adult content still face an uphill battle in terms of funding and exposure. We’ve seen developers like Lupiesoft expanding their roster with adult titles, such as the upcoming Menagerie, but outside of the visual novel genre the pickings for quality adult titles are still slim. Nevertheless, a small team of programmers, designers and artists are seeking to change this with their upcoming 18+ title, Lewd Warfare.

The amount of English visual novels on the market has steadily been increasing, so it is becoming more difficult for new entries to stand out from the crowd. However, Walkerman immediately caught our attention thanks to its promise of hunting supernatural creatures. Starring Jorgen, a young man from the countryside, the game will follow his adventures as he embarks on his new career as a walkerman.

Have a yearning to conquer and rule a fantasy world? Then the Legends of Fire & Steel Kickstarter is definitely something to check out. According to the developers they were very influenced by oldschool strategy titles such as Heroes of Might & Magic, Warcraft and Civilization as well as board and card games. The end result is a turn-based strategy title that aims to be simple to play, but with enough depth to keep players hooked.

After reading their Kickstarter page it just sounds like they are trying to fund dlc before even releasing the game on early access.
