MangaGamer Otakon 2015 News Roundup

MangaGamer had some great announcements at Anime Expo this year, including A Kiss for the Petals and Himawari, but returned with even more good news at Otakon. They not only unveiled a new partner, Propeller, but also revealed five new titles fans can look forward to

The Sagara Family

The Sagara Family

This game features the usual unlikely storyline of a male character ending up in a house full of females but it does provide a bit more substance than usual. There are quite a few branching storylines and a multitude of endings so the replay value is quite high. If you are a fan of the genre and don’t mind the whole family incest angle, then this title ticks all the right boxes.

Gameplay: The usual limitations of the genre, but with plenty of storyline branches.

Graphics: Not bad.

Sound: Includes plenty of sound effects as well as both Japanese and English voice overs

Lewd Warfare (Ironstrom And Co)

Lewd Warfare (Ironstrom And Co)

With plenty of English visual novels appearing on Steam and in bundles these days players are spoiled for choice. However, indie games with adult content still face an uphill battle in terms of funding and exposure. We’ve seen developers like Lupiesoft expanding their roster with adult titles, such as the upcoming Menagerie, but outside of the visual novel genre the pickings for quality adult titles are still slim. Nevertheless, a small team of programmers, designers and artists are seeking to change this with their upcoming 18+ title, Lewd Warfare

Pre-Orders for The Menagerie by Lupiesoft Now Available On MangaGamer

The Reject Demon: Toko Chapter 0 — Prelude from English developer Lupiesoft was recently released to a positive reception on Steam and now they are back with a brand new release. It is titled The Menagerie, but don’t expect to see this one on Steam anytime soon as it is the first 18+ title from Lupiesoft. Instead, the game is now available for pre-orders on MangaGamer

Gundemonium Recollection

Gundemonium Recollection

If you like “bullet hell” shooters then you will have a blast with Gundemonium Recollection. Five levels might not sound like much but be prepared to spend a lot of time with this game if you truly want to master it. With a wealth of weapons and some really challenging gameplay you’ll be coming back to this one again and again.

Gameplay: Daunting if you are new to the genre, but loads of fun and very challenging.

Graphics: Nowhere near cutting-edge but very stylish and cute.

Sound: The new arranged soundtrack is excellent

Drift Girls

Drift Girls

Drift Girls is simple to play, but mastering it takes some skill. In addition to the addictive action on the track, the game also features 32 different girls to date, which makes for a nice diversion between races. Overall, it is a very polished title and the quality is very high considering it is free to play. Best of all, the in-app purchases are not essential to having fun.

Gameplay: The game packs enough features in both the racing and dating departments to keep you hooked for ages.

Graphics: Beautiful manga style visuals for the dating sections and impressive 3D races.

Sound: Good music and great voice acting, but the way the women squeal during races can be a bit much

Heart Work: Symphony Of Destruction

Heart Work: Symphony Of Destruction

Heart Works isn’t a very long game, but offers more choices than most titles in the genre and these actually lead to different scenarios and endings. It is however quite heavy on the sex and violence so don’t expect a very meaningful plot.

Gameplay: The story is short but can end in multiple ways.

Graphics: Not bad for the genre and completely uncensored.

Sound: Features voice acting and pretty decent music
