If you value interesting dialogue and moral choices more than loot gathering and monster slaying then you will enjoy Unrest. The game dares to do things a bit differently and for the most it works quite well. The lack of puzzles or any real combat means that the pace of the game is very slow, but just like a good book you will want to know what is going to happen next once you are hooked.

Gameplay: The focus is very much on the story, so action junkies might become bored of all the reading.

Graphics: The hand-painted visuals give the game an unique look.

Sound: Outstanding tunes, but no speech

Wazhack is a game that kept us busy for hours, most of which was spent dying and retrying. It is a very difficult game, but with a good strategy and plenty of luck you will get far. The permanent death ensures that you stay on your toes at all times, and the procedural levels ensure plenty of replay value. There is also a wealth of characters to choose from, each with their own unique skills and weaknesses.

Gameplay: A strategic dungeon crawler, that is tough as nails, but very rewarding.

Graphics: The rendered backgrounds and 3D character models make for an interesting mix.

Sound: Subtle enough that you can play the game for hours without the music becoming annoying

We were surprised at how short a single playthrough of The Yawgh is, but with more than 50 endings, you’ll definitely want to complete it more than once. The randomly generated story has a surprising amount of depth, and the gorgeous artwork by Emily Carol is a definite plus. The Yawgh is best enjoyed with a group of other players, so if you are a solo player, the experience is just not the same.

Gameplay: While the game is short and simple, it does have tons of replay value.

Graphics: The visuals are great, and Emily Carrol provides her signature artwork for the game.

Sound: The game features a moody soundtrack that adds to the ominous vibe

Heroes & Legends: Conquerors of Kolhar offers a nice role playing fix without the investment in time required by the bigger titles. The emphasis is firmly on combat, so if this isn’t your favorite aspect of the genre you can skip this one. Although your input is rather limited, there is still plenty of strategy involved and the game can become rather addictive. There are plenty of enemies to face and the game offers a nice challenge, which makes it ideal for whiling away a few hours.

Gameplay: More strategic than it appears at first glance.

Graphics: Nice visuals, but the animation is a bit sparse.

Sound: Not a lot of variety, but what is on offer is good
