Quest for Infamy offers an authentic 90s era point & click adventure experience infused with role playing elements. It has a very offbeat sense of humor, interesting cast of characters and tons of locations to explore. The voice acting is a bit uneven and lack of hotspots can make some puzzles harder than they should be, but overall this is a game that all fans of the genre will appreciate and enjoy.

Gameplay: Very true to the point & click adventures of the 90s.

Graphics: Packed with detail and animations despite the low resolution.

Sound: Features a great soundtrack and full voice acting for all characters

Pinball Arcade – Table Pack 1

The first table pack contains two tables from Midway, both of which were great for their time. Although the tables have aged a bit, especially The Machine: Bride of Pin Bot, they still hold up very well. Medieval Madness in particular is a very entertaining table that can keep you busy for hours, but Bride of Pin Bot is definitely a lot of fun as well despite some repetition. If you don’t have these two tables in your collection yet, you are missing out.

Gameplay: Two great new tables from the nineties.

Graphics: The tables appear to have been recreated as faithfully as possible.

Sound: Nice tunes and plenty of speech samples on both tables

Octodad: Dadliest Catch

Octodad is one of those games that I just had to play after hearing about the concept and I can say that I was definitely not disappointed. The game loses some of its momentum towards the end due to forced stealth sections but overall it is a blast to play. Grabbing a few friends and playing the co-op mode where everyone is given a different limb to control is also a definite highlight.

Gameplay: Mix tricky controls with a physics engine and watch the ensuing hilarity.

Graphics: Charming and colorful.

Sound: Pretty good overall

Nihilumbra is one of those games that is hard to put down once you start playing. The stylish hand painted visuals along with some excellent creature designs give the game a visual flair of its own while the brilliant narration and moody soundtrack sucks you into the gameworld. Things start off deceptively easy but, once you unlock Void mode, you better be prepared to put all your skills to the test.

Gameplay: A charming mixture of platforming and puzzle solving.

Graphics: The hand painted visuals are stylish and enhances the atmosphere.

Sound: Brilliant narration and a moody soundtrack

Moebius: Empire Rising

There is no doubt that Moebius: Empire Rising is not going to be a game that everyone will enjoy. The lead character alone will probably rub most people the wrong way and the character models are also far from cutting edge. Despite this it has a very interesting storyline and if you get hooked you will definitely want to see it through to the end. I enjoyed my time with Moebius and would absolutely love to see a sequel that fleshes out the story even more.

Gameplay: Easy puzzles make the game accessible to newcomers and it is entertaining despite some flaws.

Graphics: Nice backgrounds but the character models and animation let things down a bit.

Sound: Good voice acting and an absolutely brilliant soundtrack

Long Live The Queen makes for a nice change of pace and is one of those titles that you will probably end up playing way longer than expected. It has a lot of replay value and once you are hooked you will want to see everything that it has to offer. Don’t let the cute visuals fool you into thinking this title is aimed purely at the female demographic.

Gameplay: A unique blend of styles that make for a engrossing and addictive experience.

Graphics: I love the visual style, but found myself wishing for some animations.

Sound: Some soothing piano tunes

Knightmare Tower

In this entertaining and action-packed game, players must break through ceilings, rescue princesses, and escape boiling lava. The gameplay is polished to a fine sheen and will keep you busy until you have conquered the tower and unlocked every item. The only problem is that afterward, you will be left wanting more.

Gameplay: The game is very accessible and very, very addictive, but the lack of mouse support is puzzling.

Graphics: The visuals are colorful and feature plenty of humorous designs.

Sound: Knightmare Tower boasts an excellent soundtrack by Hyperduck Soundworks

I’ll be the first to admit that the humor in Jazzpunk is not going to appeal to everyone, but you only need to check out the trailer to know if you’ll enjoy this game. It relentlessly spoofs all kinds of games and movies with gags coming at you thick and fast. There isn’t much of a challenge and the game is rather short but apart from that it is brilliant.

Gameplay: Open world exploration mixed in with some very humorous mini-games.

Graphics: Simple but very charming.

Sound: Very fitting
