Bloq

Bloq

Bloq features a very simple idea and gameplay mechanics, but implements it in a polished and addictive manner. The puzzles range from very easy to mind boggling, but definitely has the potential to keep players hooked. If you are looking for a puzzle title that is easy to pick up and play then you won’t want to miss out on this one.

Gameplay: Very polished and quite addictive.

Graphics: The minimalistic art style suits the game perfectly.

Sound: Not much variety, but once again matches the style of the game

Trouble With Robots

Trouble With Robots

Although originally a PC title, Trouble With Robots is a game that feels much more at home on a mobile device and the bite size levels make it great for playing on the go. The visuals have been given a complete overhaul and the gameplay is still as addictive as ever. Don’t let the whimsical story and cute visuals fool you either, the game features plenty of strategy to sink your teeth into and comes highly recommended.

Gameplay: Easy to play, but features plenty of strategic depth.

Graphics: Beautiful and detailed artwork that looks great on high definition tablets.

Sound: No speech, but the background tunes are good

Panmorphia

Panmorphia

Panmorphia is highly recommended for players interested in a slower paced, cerebral challenge. It features some beautiful visuals and plenty of very interesting puzzles. The ability of the main character to transform into different animals, changing the perspective, is also a rather cool touch. It offers plenty of value for money and a single purchase is all you need to gain access to the whole game.

Gameplay: The game offers plenty of unique puzzles to solve.

Graphics: The photos used for the scenes in the game are packed with detail.

Sound: Relaxing tunes that never become obtrusive and is perfect for exploring the gameworld

Bad Piggies Celebrates 100 Million Downloads

Bad Piggies Celebrates 100 Million Downloads

After releasing the immensely popular Angry Birds series it would have been easy for Rovio to simply stick to this winning formula while resting on their laurels. Thankfully this was not the case and they released Bad Piggies back in 2012. This charming puzzle title quickly flew to the top of the mobile charts and [...]
Violet: Space Mission

Violet: Space Mission

While Violet: Space Mission features functional visuals and audio, it is the gameplay that impresses the most. The game packs quite a challenge and navigating through the debris strewn areas using only a propulsion pack is no easy feat. The high difficulty might turn off more casual players, but anyone who enjoys a good challenge will appreciate what this game has to offer.

Gameplay: The challenge ramps up very quickly, but the game remains addictive throughout its ten levels.

Graphics: The visuals are good, but nothing spectacular.

Sound: Fitting, but thankfully unobtrusive

Pukka Golf

Pukka Golf

Forget about leisurely strolling around a course, carefully selecting an appropriate club, checking the wind speed and then making a shot. Pukka Golf provides you with a golf ball and a hole to sink it in as quickly as possible while throwing all kinds of obstacles in your way. It is a straightforward concept and done very well, making it both fun to play as well as very addictive. With tons of levels, each with multiple goals, expect Pukka Golf to keep you busy for quite a while.

Gameplay: Very easy to pick up and play, but challenging enough to keep you coming back for more.

Graphics: Simple and straightforward without any clutter, but could benefit from some more variety.

Sound: The audio is unobtrusive, but not very memorable

Epic Defense: The Elements

Epic Defense: The Elements

I must admit that Epic Defense caught me by surprise with how addictive it is. It is a pretty straight forward tower defense game but the random nature of the gem drops and the different types of towers make for an challenging experience. There are plenty of free ways to generate coins but it just never seems to be enough. Still for a free game you can’t go wrong with this one.

Gameplay: Very addictive but can become time consuming and a bit of a grind.
Graphics: Colorful and detailed even on small screens.
Sound: Nothing amazing here but not bad overall

UpperCup Football

UpperCup Football

It is hard to believe that a game where you only use one button can be this much fun, but UpperCup Football proves that it is possible. The beautiful visuals will draw you in and the addictive gameplay will keep you coming back for more. There is just so much variety in the teams and matches that you will want to keep playing just to see who you are up against next. UpperCup Football is definitely one of my favourite Android titles and one that will remain on my tablet for quite some time.

Gameplay: Very entertaining and incredibly addictive.

Graphics: Beautiful pixel art with tons of variety.

Sound: Catchy tunes and great sound effects
