Wingspan Strategy Card Game Launching On Steam

Wingspan Strategy Card Game Launching On Steam

While there’s no shortage of strategy card games available on PC, it looks like Wingspan, the upcoming release by Monster Couch, is going to be a little different. Bird enthusiasts in particular should keep an eye out for this game, which can be played solo or with up to five other players. Wingspan is based on the award-winning board game of the same name and the Steam release is set for September 17, 2020

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a more pure arcade experience compared to some of the story-heavy entries in the series. Being able to pick which side of the law you want to play for each race also adds some longevity to the game. Thanks to the involvement of Criterion it feels closer to Burnout than Need for Speed at times, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. With a larger roster of exotic cars and some scenic locations to put them through their paces, there’s plenty of fun to be had with Hot Pursuit.

Gameplay: Pure petal to the metal racing in exotic cars.

Graphics: Still looks good, especially at higher resolutions.

Sound: Features a nice licensed soundtrack and good sound effects

WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship

WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship

WRC 9 retains everything that made WRC 8 such a joy to play but also tightens a few things under the hood. It comes with the welcome inclusion of three new countries as well as new features, such as the Clubs mode to extend the longevity of the game. Throw in a great selection of cars and the promise of some great post-launch content and you are looking at a game that should not be missed if you are a rally fan.

Gameplay: Tough to master, but addictive to play.

Graphics: The cars and roads look incredible.

Sound: Very authentic sounding engine noises and effects

Squadron 51 Will Be Fighting Off Invaders In 2021

Squadron 51 Will Be Fighting Off Invaders In 2021

We are used to shoot ‘em ups, especially the science-fiction variety, being filled with eye-watering amounts of colors. Imagine then our surprise when we caught wind of Squadron 51, which promises to be a dynamic spaceship shooter that foregoes color completely. Instead, the game will be presented completely in glorious black and white with aesthetics that fans of 1950s cinema will instantly recognize

FAST & FURIOUS CROSSROADS

FAST & FURIOUS CROSSROADS

Fast & Furious Crossroads had plenty of potential but somehow manages to squander all of it. Despite some over the top scenarios the game offers very little challenge and the whole thing can be completed in one session. The multiplayer also appears to be dead on arrival, which means there is nothing to return to after completing the short campaign. Considering the success and popularity of the movie franchise it’s baffling to see how poorly the license was handled for this game.

Gameplay: Short, easy, and full of baffling design choices.

Graphics: The cars look fine, but everything else has a very low budget look and feel.

Sound: Considering the involvement of some of the big names from the movies we expected a lot better

Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition

Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition

Horizon Zero Dawn started as a Playstation 4 exclusive a few years back but makes the transition to PC in this complete edition, which includes The Frozen Wilds expansion. Apart from the technical issues affecting some players, it is a beautiful looking game with a stunning open world to explore. The combat against the many different robotic foes remains thrilling throughout and the game is also not lacking in terms of things to do and places to visit. It can become a little repetitive at times and some of the design elements are a little dated, but overall we had fun from start to finish with this game.

Gameplay: The game world is huge, but it’s fun to explore and more than enough to keep players busy.

Graphics: With the right hardware this game looks downright amazing at times.

Sound: Decent voice acting and a great soundtrack

The Room Three

The Room Three

The Room Three builds upon everything that made the previous two games so successful and adds some interesting ideas of its own. It’s much more ambitious than the past games, with larger environments and more exploration. The visuals and audio are top-notch, and the puzzles are extremely satisfying to solve. It’s still a relatively short experience, but the inclusion of alternate endings that require some effort to uncover adds some longevity.

Gameplay: You’ll love this game if you are a puzzle fan.

Graphics: The visuals are beautifully detailed.

Sound: The music is sparse, but the sound effects are great
