Horizon

Horizon

If you are new to the genre Horizon can look pretty complicated at first glance. This is one of those titles where playing the tutorial and checking out the manual is not optional, but essential if you want to get the most out of the game. It doesn’t quite reach the heights of genre classics, but there is a lot to like and it remains addictive throughout.

Gameplay: Appears daunting at first, but becomes more intuitive with extended play.

Graphics: There are some nice visual elements mixed in with all the stats and charts.

Sound: Atmospheric enough to suit the theme of the game

Arcadecraft

Arcadecraft

Arcadecraft is a nice take on the management genre, but there is a certain amount of tedium involved. Watching your arcade thrive and grow is very satisfying, but most of your time is consumed by emptying the cash from machines and tossing out troublemakers instead of making in-depth management decisions. Hopefully future updates will add some more locations and customization options.

Gameplay: Running an arcade is fun, but your space to work with is very limited.

Graphics: Plenty of different machines and ways to customize the look of your arcade.

Sound: Manages to capture the chaotic atmosphere of an arcade

Nightbanes Hell On Earth Update Now Live

What better way to kick off a new month than with a brand new update for Nightbanes. Titled “Hell On Earth” the free update increases the content in this card game even further. Fort Meow

Fort Meow

Adorable cats and addictive physics-based puzzle adventuring is a winning combination and ensures that Fort Meow will keep players hooked to the end. Building pillow forts out of all kinds of odds and ends is a blast, and the physics-based gameplay keeps things interesting. While initially a little short for our liking, the free Challenge Mode added after release offers a great excuse to keep playing after completing the campaign.

Gameplay: Very addictive and features enough items to keep the fort building interesting.

Graphics: The adorable children’s book style visuals look great.

Sound: Some very catchy tunes to accompany the wacky action

Shattered Planet

Shattered Planet

Shattered Planet is one of those games that are impossible to play only once. It is so addictive that I found myself returning to it again and again even after getting my character killed in a myriad of ways. Between the daily challenges and endless mode there is enough content here to keep players hooked for a very, very long time. This is not a game to start playing if you value your free time!

Gameplay: Simple to play, but highly addictive.

Graphics: Bold, colorful and features tons of item designs.

Sound: Mostly tranquil, but speeds up when there is action

So Many Me

So Many Me

The whimsical visuals might fool you into thinking that this is just another easy platform title, but So Many Me packs a lot of tricky puzzles as well. Completing the levels is easy enough that players of all skill levels have a fair shot, but finding all the costumes and relics takes considerably more skill. If you are looking for a polished and addictive platformer, then look no further than So Many Me.

Gameplay: A charming platformer with a strong emphasis on puzzle solving.

Graphics: Packed with detail, color and personality.

Sound: The catchy soundtrack is a perfect match for the light-hearted visual style

The Culling Of The Cows

The Culling Of The Cows

The Culling of the Cows is an action packed arcade experience with a nice visual style. Blasting the enemies requires a quick trigger finger, but the inclusion of assists and upgrades ads a strategic element to the gameplay as well. If you can appreciate a good shooter with a rather dark sense of humor you will find a lot to like about The Culling of The Cows.

Gameplay: A challenging arcade shooter that requires some strategic thinking as well.

Graphics: Nice hand-drawn visual style with plenty of detail.

Sound: The music and sound effects match the gameplay perfectly.
