As if creating one of the most maddeningly entertaining surgical “simulation” titles we’ve ever played wasn’t enough, the fine folks over at Bossa Studios have now turned their attention to bread. According to the developers, I Am Bread is “the beautiful story of one slice of bread’s epic and emotional journey as it embarks upon a quest to become toasted.” Apparently this will involve traversing the perils of a kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom as a moving slice of bread.

The newly released gameplay video shows a slice of bread flopping and swinging around a house while causing all kinds of physics related havoc. Bossa Studios mentions that there will be almost a hundred different items for your slice of bread to interact with. From the looks of it the bread is quite agile and nowhere is safe from its sticky onslaught. Players won’t have to wait very long to get in on the action either as the game hits Steam Early Access on Wednesday, Dec 3. The final release will be out early 2015 according to the developers and contain more levels, the full story, more objects to interact with as well as the usual achievements an extra polish. Considering how much fun Bossa Studios made poking around inside someone else’s innards we have high hopes for I Am Bread. Check out the trailer below to see the game in action.

Zotrix

Anyone that has spent their childhood pumping quarters into an arcade machine during the 80’s and early 90’s will be happy to hear about Zotrix. This game is based on the shooters from that era and features the usual one space pilot versus an entire alien armada formula that was so popular at the time. The roots of the game might be retro, but this doesn’t mean that it feels like it is stuck in the past.

Celestian Tales: Old North Launching on Steam, Humble Store and GOG.com

Got a hankering for a turn-based role playing game, but tired of the same old saving the world cliché? In that case, Celestian Tales: Old North might be one to watch. The game promises lush, hand-painted environments, memorable characters, emotive character portraits, moral decisions and a sprawling storyline, but without resorting to the formulaic elements present in most RPGs. This means no ancient prophesies, world ending catastrophes, or character who is the “chosen” one.

Not enough Ciabatta representation in this game. I heard that Baguettes are too hard to animate as well.
