These include some unique ones, like the recently released Family Fireside Fables, which is a pack of six charming tales read by the game’s narrator, Ed Kelly. The latest, and biggest, update is now available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Playstation3, and Xbox One. It is titled Family Trials and adds a combat-focused game mode that all users can now play for free

Oddworld: Soulstorm Releases April 6th

Oddworld: Soulstorm Releases April 6th

The wait for Oddworld: Soulstorm is almost over as the digital version of the game will officially release on April 6th, 2021. Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee was originally released in 1997 and the follow-up, Abe’s Exoddus, came out the next year after a brutal nine-month development cycle. However, because of this deadline, Exoddus was not the game that Lorne and Sherry McKenna really envision to be the true sequel. Abe’s Oddysee received a remake in 2014 in the form of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty! so it’s only fitting that Exoddus receives similar treatment with the upcoming Oddworld: Soulstorm. Ahead of the release the developers, Oddworld Inhabitants, has revealed some new information about the game

Brand New Trailer For Retro Machina

Brand New Trailer For Retro Machina

Retro Machina, the upcoming retro-futuristic action-puzzler by publisher Super.com and developer Orbit Studios has just received a brand new trailer. This latest trailer not only showcases the eye-catching retro sci-fi visuals, but also the hybrid 80s/modern synth soundtrack by Scandroid. The music is a perfect match for the retro-futuristic theme of the game

Demon’s Crystals

Demon’s Crystals

Take control of one of four Urican demons and blast away enemies in this twin-stick shooter. Unfortunately, the colorful visuals and non-stop action cannot hide how shallow the gameplay is and how repetitive everything becomes after only a few rounds. The inclusion of local co-op and multiplayer modes adds some fun to the game, but there are much better options available for this genre.

Gameplay: Action-packed, but very repetitive and grindy.

Graphics: Colorful, but sometimes too chaotic for its own good.

Sound: Very average

Death’s Hangover

Death’s Hangover

Help Death take back the souls stolen by Bastard Dracula in this Breakout-style game by Retro Army Limited. It features plenty of different levels, useful power-ups, and some big bosses. The game is easy to pick up and play, but finding all the souls can be challenging. The eighteen different endings, two-player mode, and level editor boost the replay value, though, and overall, the game is a decent choice for fans of the genre.

Gameplay: The game is challenging and entertaining.

Graphics: The pixel art visuals of Death’s Hangover look great.

Sound: The audio features decent sound effects and music

Forward to the Sky

Forward to the Sky

Help a sword-wielding princess take on the skeletal enemies and traps of the sky tower in this third-person title by Animu Game. The visuals and audio are decent, but the game is just way too short and simple. It can be completed in less than two hours and most of it will be spent solving some basic puzzles along with the occasional bit of combat. With a bit more polish and a few more levels Forward to the Sky could have been great, but as it is there are much better options available.

Gameplay: The controls could definitely have been tighter and the overall experience is very short.

Graphics: Bright and colorful, but not much in terms of variety.

Sound: Passable background music and voice acting

Alien Scumbags

Alien Scumbags

Alien Scumbags is an action-packed platform shooter filled with action, blood, gore, and pop culture easter eggs. It’s short enough to complete in one session, but the low asking price coupled with the high replay value makes it a no-brainer for fans of the genre.

Gameplay: Lots of monsters to shoot and secrets to find.

Graphics: A nice throwback to the era of pixel art platformers.

Sound: Great music, sound effects, and voice acting
